The Animals (Secret Agency)
Total of seven agents including Gum. Member ages besides Gum: 7, 8, 5, 9, 5, and 6 years old. All members have wings — either part bat or part bird. Members are spread across the United States, not all in California.
Mission: Sneak into animal-hurting factories (factory farms) and free/rescue the animals.
Members:
- Lee Lee / “Lee” (age 5): Half bat, half human. Prefers to be called “Lee” — “LeeLee is a funny name.” Gadget co-maker with Gum; the agent who is at headquarters most besides Gum. One of the youngest members; stays at headquarters more and helps with the animals. Role: tech/inventor (along with Gumball).
- Gumball (age 5): Role: tech/inventor (along with Lee Lee). Her name creates an awkward nickname situation — the team is still figuring out what to shorten “Gumball” to.
- Susie Kuzi / “Sue” (age 9): Oldest member of the group. Role: best warrior of the group. Goes by Susie or Sue.
- Clover Valley / “Clove” (age 7): Goes by Clover or Clove. Noted as having the least silly name of the group.
- Seaside Beach / “Sea” (age 8): Goes by Sea or C.
Gadgets:
- Paper airplane short-circuit devices: Tiny remote-controlled paper airplanes, thousands per packet; if one touches a wire, it immediately short-circuits the power.
- Habitat bag: A small bag that turns into a full animal habitat inside; any size animal can enter (just get part of the animal in) and will appear inside the habitat; entire bag fits in a pocket.
- “Multiple money”: Money that multiplies — say “$1” and request “$8” and $8 appears; used so agents can stay at hotels.
- Circle bombs: Quiet bombs that destroy only a precisely sized, adjustable circle at the point of contact; used to create holes in floors/walls to gain entry.
- X-ray contacts: Contact lenses that give x-ray vision.
- Watch communicator: Looks like a normal digital watch; flips up to allow contact with other team members; has a satellite dish on top that transmits to headquarters, which routes the message. Team is working on a version that directly contacts other members.
- Stone knife: Made from sharpened cave stone — cuts through virtually anything (including steel bolts) completely silently; possibly can cut through concrete; has a specially engineered sheath material the knife cannot cut.
- Animal transporter “bottomless bag”: Any animal placed inside enters a habitat space; animals can be called out by name or number on request.
Team history: All members are from the same orphanage. The orphanage closed but they weren’t adopted. They found a trapdoor in the orphanage floor leading to a giant underground cave stretching for miles. The cave previously contained only a box of tangled wires and blankets piled in a corner. The team was founded two years before the recording. All members loved animals; the orphanage did not allow pets, which motivated them. They went on their first mission as a full team after headquarters was completed.
First mission: Rescued horses from an abusive stable — horses were whipped and crammed together; the team slipped in, cut a steel bolt lock with the stone knife silently, and loaded the horses into the bottomless bag.
Headquarters: Replicates outdoor life with grass and trees inside. “Sun holes” dug so animals can experience sunlight. Currently houses 3,000 animals. All animals neutered; females kept separate from males if they cannot be neutered, to prevent population explosion. Robots assist with feeding and animal care; team members rotate in, stay a few days to help, then depart on missions.
Shared pet: A bat named Bat — all members care for it together.
