Sona Flower

Full name Sona Flower. Age approximately 12. About as tall as a hand — “as tall as my hand.” Looks like Anna from Frozen — “she has the color of hair and wears her hair like that” — but wears different, normal-kid clothes.

Believed to be Ellie’s first imaginary friend, inspired by an Elsa/Anna nightlight.

Backstory: Part of a village called Greenleaf. The village was destroyed in a “sandstone” storm. Katie rescued the villagers during the storm; now all the villagers live inside Katie’s house — “it’s like they live in the walls, basically” — spread throughout in little makeshift house-things in walls and cabinets. Sona’s family started the village.

Living situation: Lives in a tiny house (about a foot tall, two floors, four rooms, like a dollhouse) built by Katie, inside Katie’s house/room.

Family: Lives with her grandmother (age 60 — “just like a normal grandmother”). Her parents built the village and are retired; “they can’t take care of her anymore.” Has a mother and father but no siblings. Has so many cousins she cannot count them all — “a lot of the village is Sona’s relatives and cousins.”
