Zoe

Age 12, about to turn 13. Birthday is April Fool’s Day (April 1st). Light orange fur with brown fur-freckles — “right where the freckles are, brown fur has grown” on her face. Classic cat person: walks on two or four legs, cat paws, cat feet, cat ears, whiskers, cat face, fur on body, human hair.

Her hair is normally blonde and normally worn in two braids down to her knees. It changes color by touch — she only has to touch a color and her hair changes to that color; touching multiple colors simultaneously creates multi-colored streaks, spots, or wave patterns. Her hair is also prehensile — it can lengthen, shorten, and move on its own — and untangles itself automatically. She usually wears a hat when in town. In summer: shorts and tank top; in winter: two sweaters and sweatpants.

Lives in a cabin right next to a deep forest, which she constantly explores. Three cabins total on the property: one for her parents, one for her twin brothers, one for her.

Key story — The Treasure Chest: While climbing a tree in the forest, a branch broke and she fell, landing on something hard in the ground. She dug it up and found a treasure chest. Half the contents were pure gold coins; the other half were jewels and diamonds, including a diamond as big as her fist — “a little bigger than my fist.” The diamond grows each year: started the size of her fist, now the size of her head. The family keeps the chest and uses it as needed; the large growing diamond is kept and growing in value.
