The Hair Wall
A wall of detached orange hair, taller than the trees, that rings a Maine forest and keeps out lumberjacks while letting animals pass.
A wall of detached hair built by the Girl with the Hair Wall, surrounding the entire forest she owns, taller than the trees, to stop lumberjacks: “it reaches taller than the trees. So the lumberjacks can’t get through and they can’t get over.” The wall is usually rolled up above the trees and unrolls when lumberjacks come within 100 feet. Animals can pass freely: “whenever an animal comes by, the hair opens and when a lumberjack comes by, the hair closes.”
